Many great nations of the world, including the United States of America have given citizenship/Residency status to the homeless SriLankan tamil refugees and have helped them restart their life in these countries.
India has given citizenship/ Residency status to refugees from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh.
However the SriLankan Tamil refugees who have lived in India for the last 30 years have been denied this right. Art of Living Foundation has many times in the past petitioned that these SriLankan Tamil refugees be given the citizenship/Residency rights/status in India. We once again request the Indian Government to grant these refugees from SriLanka the right to Indian Citizenship/ Residency status.
