Jammu, Jul 23 (PTI) Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar today gave a thumbs up to the ongoing Indo-Pak dialogue process and said Mumbai-like terror attacks should not hamper the peace talks."Dialogue (Indo-Pak talks) should continue (despite the Mumbai attacks). It would be continued," Ravi Shanker told reporters after inaugurating a Ma Sharika Meditation Centre at Raipur area in the outskirts of Jammu city this evening. "But at the same time stringent measures should be taken (to deal with the terrorism)," he said. In reply to the question about the present security situation in Jammu and Kashmir as compared to last few years, Ravi Shanker said "There is peace in Kashmir this year. Time is better than last year for normal life". "A better environment is prevailing. Locals are very happy," said Ravi Shanker, who had returned after 2-day visit of the Kashmir Valley. With regard to his meeting with Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, he said "it was courtesy call. it was good meeting".Shanker also said that Amarnath yatra is expected to reach a record of 7 lakh this year. "The yatra is going on smoothly. It is expected to reach a record of 7 lakh this year. Next year, it would further increase," Shanker said.
