Shillong, Oct 7 : The United Nations, in partnership with the Art of Living of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, will launch its 'Stand Up and Take Action' campaign to eradicate poverty in Meghalaya.
The movement seeks to inspire people from around the world to take action in support of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), targetting to eradicate poverty from the world by 2015.
''Our movement will pressurise global leaders to live up to their commitment to reduce extreme poverty, halt spread of HIV/AIDS, provide universal primary education to all and ensure gender equality in their respective countries,'' Richa Chopra of the Art of Living told reporters.Read More
